Message from the Master 2009 - 2010

Dear all

As 2010 has come to reality I wanted to thank all the affiliated artists, producers, event organizers and party goers for the great support! Big ups to the Soleil and Frequency Response crews.

Without you all this stuff wouldn't make any sense. This past 2009 wasn't the most productive year however was very educational and inspiring. I have personally spent it while mastering the workshop and thanks to few individuals I was able to renew the studio and refresh all broken bits and pieces. Now fully functional and ready to rock we can see the future in a much brighter live. What we have learned so far is that is good to stick to your own roots and be true to yourself. Stick to the sounds, believe in it, strive and survive. The 2009 was a big upside down in terms of the future goal setting for Echoplex. The new horizons will bring a much more emotional, electronic and spontenuos approach to music making then in previous years. Im very happy with the fact that we have developed a team of passionate people who will come together and re create Techno of the underground kind without gimmics, bullshit and hype.

In the 2010, I want to wish you ALL, happiness, good health, patience, wicked tunes and prosperity.

case, where Akin Khan shows his mature understanding of electronic
music, in this deep and soulfull album.

Every track sounds as a statement of melody and harmony from a very
techno meaning of the words. Whether it goes in straight 4 x 4
classic drums patterns, trough broaken beats, to disolved toms; Akin
takes advantage of any resource at hand to drive the listener into the
deepness of sound and abstract landscapes, developed from a beautyful
retro-futurisim musical aproach.

Meridian’s music journey, and as DJ or Live performer, you’ll have

Akin Khan - Bio

I was born and brought up in Turkey, where I attended primary school.

I was 15 when I emigrated to Germany with my family. That was a short time before the fall of the Berlin wall.

My musical odyssey started about two decades ago.…

It was in the early nineties, when we had immigrated to Germany. As so often in life, the beginning was a mere accident in conjunction with a youngster's curiosity.

We had moved into another town, where I happened to pass a record shop and heard this music - unlike anything I had ever heard before.

It was loud, it was hard, it was Jeff Mills Waveform Transmission Vo. II. This name was to thread through my rather modest biography like a recurrent theme.

The sound was fearsome and exciting at the same time, an encounter with something quite unknown. I was just curious … where does this music come from, who makes it, and above all how do they do it!??

At a later date the puzzle came together when various facts gradually combined into a picture that had a name to it - Detroit !!

And there were other masterpieces: Robert Hood - Minimal Nation, Kenny Larkin - Metaphor and Laurent Garnier - Shot in the Dark.

More records followed, 2 record players and a battle mixer. My collection increased with my musical likings.

I then went back to the roots. Soul and jazz music became decisive factors in my musical development.

Techno made me a music lover, but I was not limited to one style.

Towards the end of the decade I stopped putting on records and took up photography … but that is a different story.

Although I was not active in terms of music in the new millennium, my enthusiasm for that sound and my respect for the artists remained unabated.

And in early 2007, again quite accidentally (how else), I started to
make music myself.

Akin Khan’s first album “Meridan” is released on Soleil Records, and abailable for digital download at beatport.com

Hello Everyone

Just to let you know that long awaited Akin Khan's Meridian album scheduled for end of March will be followed by CD and Vinyl release. The Vinyl release will include a special remix of Echoplex. Warsaw Admixture Series V selected tracks are also going to be featured on Vinyl. Consequently Hiroaki Iizuka's album which is being prepared now will also hit the black surface:) and will include previously unavailable mixes of Subterenean club monster.

New addition to Soleil - Akin Khan delivers an original cut “Encounter” along with seven remixes from selected Soleil Records fresh talent team.

A broken beat introduces us into deep electronic landscapes, which Akin Khan proposes for his Soleil Records debut release. Each of the artists present their own personal and unique interpretation of the basic elements of melody, rytthm and harmony:

Arian: a groovy continous trip, delivers techno minimalism in tune with the hottest dancefloor warmers of nowadays dance scene.

FLO: introspective, percusive, danceable interpretation, soulful for the deeper listener.

Mountage: uplifting sound approach with deep and sensual vocals that invite the listener to a journey till the climax of melody and darkness.

Onka Onichi: solid electronic drums with oriental flavoured percusion, welcomes the listener to a straight techno hi hat lines, delivering deepness while evolving analogue synths.

Shaka: analogue flavoured, Shaka makes an old school acid interpretation of the melody, his 303 deep lines make sense with a vintage percussive development. Old school lovers, tune in.

Trish Van Eynde: goes for an underground filtered techno mix, developed over a broken beats and raw analogue patterns. A must have for all the freaks and trasmat lovers!

Yasuo Sato: starting as a groovy ‘ready for party’ mix, that plays Tricks with your mind, thanks to a carefully stereo engeneering it then drives off with noisy loops carried by tribal percusive introduction and leading to a harder techno state of mind.

All in all, Akin khan “Encounter” and Remixes has it all for: tastes, dancefloors and moments of your performance. Introducing the followin Akin Khan LP to be released by Soleil Recods soon. Stay tuned!

Akin Khan, has finished a single which will feature remixes of yet to be confirmed artists. The EP will then promote his upcoming LP titled "Meridian".

Roberto Bardini, the dub master hailing from Italy has finished a dub oriented EP which will include remix of Echoplex.

Eaqualis has finished a true Detroit EP.

FLO made a great single and one of the tracks features Lunao on the vocals.

Australia's own Komplex will deliver an exotic EP from down under.

Chancelor is planned to deliver some old school techno vibed EP.

Shaka will shake us up with his techno funked electronic groove to name few.

There are many other artists which were kindly featured on Warsaw V that are currently working on their own individual works. Full Release schedule for the upcoming months will be posted soon.
